The flyers DJ Timbo used were taken directly from his website. <BR/><BR/>(Of course I believe they idea okaying speech is patently offensive. Our rights do not begin at the edges of the Claremont Colleges' properties.)<BR/><BR/>2)She ought to apologize because she used her official position as dean of students. She should have made clear that she was making her position known as an everyday individual. The flyers and table tents were not authorized, so as far as this rule is concerned, there was flagrant rule breaking.<BR/>Whether this rule should be in place is a different matter, but as the rules go, she doesn't need to apologize about being angry that non-notarized flyers and table tents were doing their rounds on the Scripps campus. <BR/><BR/>And as for being offended with the flyers, she doesn't need to apologize either. You just said that you don't have a "right" to not be offended. I'm sure you agree that you do have the "right" to be offended and an even bigger right to voice your opinions about what is offensive. So, I'm sorry, but she doesn't need to apologize for saying that she thought it was offensive.<BR/><BR/>The only thing that she should apologize for is blaming the entire class of 2010 for this whole mess because the whole class didn't partake in the process of planning and advertizing for this party.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
