Richard Rodner, Wikipedia-Censor, is Leaving CMC at the End of June

You remember Richard Rodner, don't you, dear reader? He's the PR flack that censored and sanitized Bassam Frangieh's Wikipedia page. Today, he was probably let go or possibly fired. (It doesn't say he's retiring or going to a new company, so that's what I'm left to speculate.)

Anyways, I'm very pleased and I hope you are, too. He mismanaged CMC's PR for far too long.

Here's to hoping for a speedy transition.

Oh, and thanks for the help with the story that won me the Breindel award.

Subject: Announcement

Memorandum
Date:   June 17, 2011
To:       CMC Faculty & Staff
From:   Ernie Iseminger, VP of Development & External Relations

This is to announce that Richard Rodner, Associate Vice President for Public Affairs and Communications will be leaving CMC at the end of June.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank Richard for his leadership of our Office of Public Affairs and Communications, and for his dedication to the college.

Initiatives launched under his leadership include CMC’s new visual identity, the newly launched CMC Web site, CMCIQ, the new CUC collaborative satellite uplink broadcast studio, and the new look and editorial style of the award-winning CMC Magazine which continues to strengthen alumni, parent, and community engagement with our campus. Through these and other efforts, Richard helped to increase the visibility of our campus, promote the accomplishments and contributions of our faculty, students, staff, and alumni and enhance Claremont McKenna College’s image and stature.

We are grateful for Richard's contributions to our campus over the past two and half years. We wish him and his wife, Marcy, the very best in all that lies ahead.

As usual, you have no facts to support your speculation, but speculate away -- it is what you do best. Besides not cowtowing to your ego and demands, please enligthen us as to what you see as mismanagement of CMC's PR (or are these issues only those that relate to you). I highly doubt that he helped you win anything, your own right wing constituents can claim credit for shining that on you. Given your name slanderous name calling in your comments, I hope that he sues you. Certainly if someone called you a right wing conservative flack you might be tempted to do the same. Your reputation is all about sleaze - good luck with that.

I'm not the only person that thinks that. Just ask some of the people at the Rose Institute.

As for coming after me, sue away.

And I not the only person that thinks you're a sleaze, ask just about everyone in the class of 2011

Sorry, but I have quite a few good friends so I am going to call bogus. -- charles

However, I'll bet your detractors outnumber your "friends" 10-1. But your earlier reply about providing examples of pr mismanagement was typical of your rhetoric - fluff, no substance.

wow you are the worst person i've ever met. if i ever see you again, i will punch you in the face and dare you to sue me.

-your classmate.

Do it, coward.

Looks like somebody is about to pull a Wilner!

it would be a bad idea to punch charles in the face. he would cry, run away, call the police, write 200 posts about it, and hold a grudge for the rest of his life.

if his fucked up history is any indication...

I wonder how many careers you'll need to destroy before potential employers decide you're dangerous to know.

I've seen Charles fight and he fights dirty. He's the kind that'll throw sand up into your eyes and punch you in the kidneys. Not very admirable, but it gets the job done.

Rodner could have avoided all of this by being honest and not sucking.

Say what you want about CJ, he is honest as shit. You critics must admit that. As far as speculation goes, it is HIS OWN PERSONAL BLOG. Where else could he do that if not on his own site? Quit habitually reading it if you dont like what it says. I, for one, am a huge fan. Way to go CJ. Fuck Rodner.

Anonymous @ 1:32, I could not agree more with your likening CJ's honesty to shit - great metaphore as shit is dirty, stinks, and generally carries disease. I agree that is an apt description of CJ. Nice going.

Corny and easy. However, Id be curious to know one example of something "dishonest" that CJ has done. From what I have seen he has been right about everything so far. Just cause you dont like it dont make it false...

Johnson isn't dishonest in a true sense, but he skews and manipulates truths to serve his interests. He is NOT a journalist. He is a little pissed off blogger who gets his rocks off by trying to make people look bad. He'd laugh at anyone. No boundaries, no decorum, no empathy. Just point and laugh. CJ, you're sleazy.
