Shocker: Claremont Colleges Ban Students From Having Cars; Zip Car Increases Rates

The admins of several Claremont Colleges, in cahoots with the City Council of Claremont, have banned sophomores and freshmen from having cars on campus. (I was against it when they were banning freshmen and I'm still against it.)

At the time, ZipCar, was suggested as an alternative for those poor blokes who still needed to use a car to get around. (This being L.A. and all.) There were, of course, problems with this approach, the most glaring of which was that you required your license for at least a year before driving.

Now, courtesy of Pomona's The Student Life, we find that ZipCar is increasing its rates. I'm stunned. The school gives them a monopoly on transportation and they increase the price?
