"Smut subsidized by your student fees." That's how I described David Martinez's article for The Port Side earlier yesterday. The article hopes to "parse political pornos" but, if you'll pardon the pun, falls flat, if for the simple reason that deconstruction and pseudo-intellectualism.
This type of article says a lot about modern higher education. It considers pornography worthy of serious study and shamelessly makes articles about political pornography its cover story.
The article's subject matter is simply too filthy to mention on a family-friendly blog. (Yeah, from time to time, my grandmother does read this stuff.)
If this is the standard of deconstructionism and education, then we're all doomed.
