Oxtoby: Yes Yellow Ribbon, No ROTC

President Oxtoby is quoted in favor of the Yellow Ribbon society in The Student Life. That federal program helps GIs afford more expensive private colleges post graduation. Although I have my doubts about the wisdom of putting more federal money in education, I think it's all in all a worthy program. President Oxtoby should be commended for backing it.

Here's what he said,
Oxtoby said the Yellow Ribbon Program is beneficial because of the “type of student it would add to campus.”

Veterans would bring to the campus “their life experience and…be a little more mature,” Oxtoby said.
So why does he continue to oppose ROTC credit for Pomona students? Are Pomona ROTC students not "mature" enough? Do they not add to the campus?

From ASCMC's email:
And a note about our shared responsibility at parties:
Please don't take your raging out on ASCMC equipment or damages to dorms. The collateral damage of sloppiness at parties has cost us a few g's over the past few weeks. Kicking over light stands, liquid damage to speakers and audio equipment, knocked down exit signs, etc. That's a lot of money that could have been spent on more worthy causes like gigantic slip 'n slides, bouncy inflatable castles, Chipotle study breaks, etc.

Thanks guys! Stay classy, CMC.

Go See Dan Griswold
