If there has been one thing that I appreciate more than outcome of the other day's special election has been the reaction of assorted left-wing friends and family, "but Charles, don't you know that California will now be ungovernable?"
As if it weren't already.
I wager that The Wall Street Journal is correct -- that this new tightening of the budget will cause state bureaucrats to think a little harder before spending our money.
There's much to do yet, but this is a good thing for the state. No pain, no gain, eh, Arnold?
I'm optimistic that this two-to-one vote against overspending by Sacramento will make Californians reexamine their priorities.
