The Forum's Disingenuous Comment Policy

You might remember that I enabled comment moderation on The Claremont Conservative. (I still accept virtually every comment that is put up, so that needn't stop you from commenting.)

One of the groups that said I was being hypocritical was CMC's The Forum, which published this unfunny satire piece decrying the death of free thought on campus. In characteristic weaselness, it was unsigned by The Forum.

(Apparently they were unable to see the difference between signaling out a comment that Ross Boomer, its school-financed and subsidized editor, disapproved of on political grounds and my wish to have my own blog not descend into Lol cats or worse.)

It turns out, however, that the Forum has a policy of moderating comments, just as I do. Above is exhibit A. Click on it to see the larger image.

Whew: "Professor" Mort Sahl Turns Up

Mort Sahl, comedian and sometimes Claremont McKenna or Pitzer professor, was reported missing by his wife on Friday. According to LA Observed, she hasn't seen him since Tueday, May 6 and contacted the police.

But it turns out that Mr. Sahl was "where he wanted to be voluntarily" and must have simply forgot to tell his wife. (Or better yet, didn't want to tell her.)

Sahl's blind in one eye and hard of hearing, so I wonder how he got where he was heading.

I'm betting aliens.
