I warned that the takeout boxes wouldn't be hygienic, and of course, nobody listened to me. Well, here comes this email from Story House, from one of my RAs.
Story House has requested that students clean out their take-out containers from Collins. There have been several cases of mold and malodors, so let's try to avoid that!

Obviously some students would be negligent in cleaning out their takeout boxes to the point of them getting moldy. This does not mean they are a bad idea and so not allowed. They go through a dishwasher and are cleaned every time you enter the dining hall for takeout. Nothing to get upset over.
My favorite line is "of course, nobody listened to me."
That makes me breathe a sigh of relief for humanity!
It's not hard to spot that the subtext here is the fact that it's a "green" related issue. Just like the smoking on the balcony post, it has nothing to do with smoker's rights, or even the cleanliness of the trays. It's just an opportunity to bash on an environmentally conscious gesture -- and a very desperate one at that.
If the smoker had written in to say they couldn't smoke in the CMC parking lot, or the mold had been reported growing on the kitchen floor, do you think CJ would be "reporting" on that?
In the guise of concern, the smoker and the mold are just being used as an opportunity to whine about a supposedly liberal brainwashing taking place inside the paranoid and caged mind of certain nut-jobs.
Actually, the green issue is B.S. See Climategate.
There is no evidence that the mold affects public health. The request was from Story House regarding smells not Collins regarding sanitation.
Why was my comment deleted? You just further confirmed my point in your response. Even if the green movement is b.s, that does not detract from the validity of my argument. Perhaps both your arguments and the green movement arguments are "b.s". They aren't mutually exclusive.
