Guess Who's Coming To (Ath) Dinner? Jesse Jackson Sr.

As if The Claremont Colleges did not have enough race hustlers on campus, The Claremont Portside is reporting that Jesse Jackson will be coming to the Athenaeum for our annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day commemoration, bringing to two the number of left-wing radicals Bonnie Snortum has invited to the Athenaeum. For those keeping track, it will be Jesse Jackson's second visit to the Athenaeum. (He is dubiously on the Ath's Wall of Fame for 1989.)

Here's to hoping he will skip this speech, as he did the one in Trinidad for $75,000 and a chartered private jet, and that the Athenaeum had the common sense -- which apparently is not so common -- for less than that!

The best part about this, of course, is how I joked to someone that if CMC really wants to heal the racial divide at this school, they ought to bring Jesse Jackson. That sounds like a swell idea!

I hope to get the head table for this event and will ask Jesse a question at the Athenaeum (or several).

Wow. That image you posted is making some pretty wild claims!

If you really subscribe to that kind of generalizing thought, maybe you and Rachael Ballard might just get along better than you think!

The double standards are jaw-dropping.

It is apt when applied to Jesse.

Conveniently so.

The simple solution, of course would be, if you don't like the speaker don't attend the event.

But something tells me you'll be there with a nefarious motive and a nasty attitude.

It is my duty to be there if I am to make a charge against him.
