Those of you who care about your privacy might want to have a word, or several with Claremont McKenna after they basically leaked everyone's phone number and campus address from the Class of 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. I found this after Googling a friend's name and lo, and behold, got everybody's cell phone number.
The real question is why that information isn't gated and whether or not I'll be complying with any request for my information after this.
Update: I have removed the link after Cynthia Humes explained why it was that this information was in the public view.

If you are so concerned about privacy, it doesn't make sense to link it in a blog post so that everyone can see it.
It's called reporting.
Nah. Its known as talking out of your ass
so how did HMC get this content?
Reporting? What's been your favorite journalism class at CMC so far?
Why didn't you include any discussion about your efforts to contact the administration and determine why this breach has occurred as well as what their reaction and responses were? Also, I'm curious why you instantly named CMC as the perpetrator when the spreadsheet clearly comes from the hmc.edu domain. Excellent reporting!
Any responsible "reporter" would have given the organization a fair chance to rectify the problem before making this information available in a public forum. I'll be alerting both schools to your actions as well as calling some of the numbers on the spreadsheet to inform whoever answers that you were proud to make all this information available.
If you are concerned about privacy, you are always welcome to opt out of directory lists. Under FERPA, schools have the right to confirm or disclose directory information on those students who have not opted out. Directory information varies by school, but, at least at the 5Cs, includes name, address, and telephone number, among many other things. It's all there in the manual if you ever bothered to read it.
So is it a little weird that that Excel spreadsheet was publicy available? Probably. Is it illegal? Certainly not.
I can't access the link from off campus -- it tells me I'm not authorized to view the information. Just FYI.
They changed it after I posted it. See email from Cynthia Humes up top. Thanks.
this is how i got my target in assassins.
