By now, we all know that CMC alum, Chuck DeVore, is running for U.S. Senate against Carly Fiorina first, for the nomination, and then Barbara Boxer. I have written on Assemblyman DeVore often, and would love to see him become the next senator for California. (I have also written on the congressional campaigns of Adam Kokesh CMC '06, Gabrielle Giffords SC '93 and John Lerew CMC '81.)
Apparently, DeVore's not the only alum considering a run for the Senate.
Tom Leppert CMC '77 and Class of 2008 graduation speaker, is rumored to be considering a run for the GOP Senate primary, according to the Dallas Morning New.
I'm currently a Michael Williams man myself, especially after Senator DeMint endorsed him, but if Leppert moves to the Right, he could well garner my attention. He'll have to explain why he's behind such silly green initiatives and why he supports the no jobs-creating stimulus, of course.
