Matthew Spaulding, CMC alum, wrote a new book, We Still Hold These Truths: Rediscovering Our Principles, Reclaiming Our Future that is the subject of a profile in National Review.
I've been reading Race and Liberty in America: The Essential Reader by Jonathan Bean about how it's really been these classically liberal thinkers, grounded in natural law, that have been able to offer a compelling alternative to the statism and de facto racism of progressives like FDR and Woodrow Wilson.

Your book looks great -- I just placed an order. And thanks for mentioning my book.
Where are you these days?

I see you are now DIRECTOR at Heritage. Congrats. I wonder how one stays sane in that Beltway bubble. Frankly, I think the only good to come of the Bush/Obama/Fed/Fannie meltdown is a reminder or risk and moral hazard, on the one hand; and a reminder to Republicans and others of the principles we both write about. God help us if the next conservative revolution gets all "Big Government" and "compassionate" on us. In a word, "wobbly."
