Is Travis Kaya Up to His Old Habits of Plagiarizing the CI?

Travis Kaya, the erstwhile News Editor, plagiarized The Claremont Independent last year when he did what I called some "piggy back" journalism in his coverage of L'affair Petropoulos.

He also so heavily changed former Aanchal Kapoor's article on The White Party to fit his bias that she quit The Student Life and joined The Claremont Independent.

Now he's cribbed an article I wrote for The Claremont Independent on its front page, citing figures that I got from Dean Vos without any attribution. Sure, he mentions The Claremont Independent in paragraph four, but he doesn't mention me or that the entire genesis of the article came from The Claremont Independent.

Of course, if he wanted to crib an article, he should have taken this one about Pomona and ROTC. (Speaking of which, did anyone else notice the big ROTC advertisement on Page 9?)

I digress, but maybe if Travis thinks "Google News Alerts" are reporting, it's a good thing that he's now just a staff writer. Go out and interview sources, Travis. After all, The Student Life pays you to be a journalist.

This doesn't sound biased at all! Travis works his ass off.
