My first piece for the New York Sun is online now.
The New York Sun for those of you who don't know, is run by a group of prominent New York intellectuals. This is a big deal.
I basically went around trying to get a sense of political atmosphere on campus today. Many of you will recall me asking you questions on campus or talking to you in the Hub.
As a side note, isn't it interesting that as the G.O.P. flames out with McCain my career seems to be taking off?

Yours Truly Writes Article about Claremont McKenna Voting
James Yee Supports Barack Obama?
UPDATE: 02/05/2008 5:00PM
James Yee, who coincidentally speaking at the Claremont McKenna campus, is speaking in front of a group of five Muslim students in Claremont McKenna’s Hub.
I am sitting one table over. He just said that “Obama would be a lot more helpful on the War on Terror than any of the other candidates. He’s for habeas.”
Now there’s an endorsement! I wonder what Yee thinks of Obama's decision to bomb Pakistan into compliance.
Here’s what Yee has said previously about our boys overseas. By the way, the network is Syria TV.
On his visit to the Ath, I have to rely on the words of my friends. (At least until they put it up on the Ath website.) I had to attend a French movie and file an article for The New York Sun. More on that in coming days.
ConfusedMinority lists two of the reasons that James Yee cites for all the accusations made against him.
- · American Muslim
- · Ethnically Chinese
He heard from his lawyer that someone had referred to him as a “Chinese Taliban.” Of course his lawyer would say that.
Yee is the type that believes whatever people tell him. He believes the accusations of torture by Gitmo detainees even though he never witnessed them himself.
Now those detainees, picked up on the battlefield, would never lie to us. Would they? It’s not like jihadis ever tell a lie, do they?
Thuggish Displays by the Democrats at Hub; Appeasing Republicans Lie Down And Accept It
In what was supposed to be a bipartisan event with the Claremont Colleges and which was funded by money from both clubs, the Hub has been politically hijacked by the Left.
Robert Bauman, our president, didn’t even show up. I had to get him over at the James Yee talk to come over and fight the campus Democrats. Elise Viebeck, the head of the Claremont Independent, spent the night placating the Democrats on campus. Well done.
Robert worked out a compromise – that we would switch every thirty minutes – once I pulled him from the Ath.
Will the last Republican please stand up?
Update: 02/05/2008 8:00 PM
Elise Viebeck informs me that we're switching back between CNN and Fox News. I haven't seen Fox yet, but apparently Robert reasoned with the Dems. Bravo, sir.
Update: 02/05/2008 8:26 PM
Fox News goes on. Liberals complain. Charles Johnson revels. Ah yes, the glories of bipartisanship 3 hours into the night.
